Saltaire Village, a quaint little town near Bradford, was one of the other designations on the #DykxhoornDarling tour. Saltaire just happens to be a World Heritage Site. The town was built by Sir Titus Salt, who built the town as “model industrial village” based on his ideals of social consciousness. According to UNESCO, Saltaire’s layout and Italianate style architecture perfectly reflects the 19th century philanthropic paternalistic ideal.
The David Hockney exhibit “The Arrival of Spring” was at the mill. It made for good wandering.
We finished the day enjoying perfect fall weather during a stroll through the park.
