New research: risk of schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and bipolar disorders by migrant status

I have a fresh new paper out today, published in Psychological Medicine! This is research from my PhD, looking at how the risk of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder vary by migrant status, region of origin, and age-at-migration.

Some of the headline results were that we found similar patterns of increased risk across all psychotic disorders (including bipolar with psychotic symptoms), which were very different from what we found in non-psychotic bipolar disorder.

There were also patterns by region of migrant origin and age-at-migration, but I won’t spoil all the good stuff! The paper is open access, so you should be able to read it in all it’s nerdy, scientific glory: bit.ly/2zHU6MG
